Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how focuswave (“Service Provider”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our applications and this website. This policy applies to focuswave.cc and to all focuswave applications, including Memory Nook, Smart Photo Diary, Flowease, and Struq.
Memory Nook
Information Collection
Memory Nook does not require an account and does not collect personal information for accounts, analytics, advertising, or tracking. Preferences such as display comfort and sound settings are stored only on your device.
Location and Weather
To match the weather outside the in-app window to conditions near you, the Application may request access to your device’s location (While Using the App) and use Apple WeatherKit to obtain current weather conditions.
- Location is used only to request weather for your approximate area.
- Location is not stored on our servers, and we do not build a location history.
- If you decline location access, or if weather cannot be obtained, the Application continues to work using a simulated weather cycle on your device.
- You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Data Storage and Retention
The Application does not maintain a user profile on our servers. Any local preferences remain on your device and can be removed by deleting the app or resetting related settings on the device.
Third Parties
Weather data is requested through Apple’s WeatherKit. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Smart Photo Diary
AI Processing
To generate diary entries from your photos, the Application sends the selected photo and the generation prompt (for example, writing style guidance and time-of-day context) to Google’s Gemini API. That data is used only to produce the diary text. We do not store your photos or diary entries on focuswave servers. Under the Gemini API terms that apply to our use, Google does not use prompts or responses to improve its products; it may still log them for a limited time for abuse prevention and legal requirements.
Permissions
The Application may request access to your photo library so you can choose photos for diary entries, and optionally to the camera if you take a photo in the app. Photos are not uploaded to focuswave servers.
Data Storage
Diary entries and related preferences are stored locally on your device. Local diary storage is encrypted on disk. Entries are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. You can delete individual entries in the app and export or restore a backup from Settings. Subscription status is managed by Apple through the App Store.
Third Parties
Diary generation uses Google’s Gemini API. Purchases and subscription management use Apple’s In-App Purchase. Smart Photo Diary contains no analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your data.
Flowease
Information Collection
Flowease does not require an account and does not send posture data to focuswave servers. All posture analysis is performed locally on your Mac using the camera and Apple’s Vision framework. We do not operate a backend that receives your camera feed or scores.
Camera Usage
The Application requires access to a camera on your Mac solely for real-time posture monitoring. If more than one camera is available, you may choose which one to use. Camera frames are:
- Processed entirely on your device
- Never recorded or stored as video or still images
- Never transmitted to any server or third party
Notifications
Optional posture alerts use macOS local notifications. When alerts are enabled, the Application may request notification permission from the system. Alert timing is based on on-device score averages; notification content is generated locally and is not sent to focuswave.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following preferences may be stored locally using standard macOS preferences (UserDefaults) and can be reset or changed in the app:
- Calibration baseline (relative face-position metrics for your preferred posture, not a photo of your face)
- Alert settings (enabled state, score threshold, evaluation period, and minimum interval between notifications)
- Selected camera identifier when you choose a non-default camera
Short-lived score history used for alert evaluation is kept in memory only and is not written to disk as a history log. Flowease contains no analytics, advertising, or cross-app tracking, and we do not sell your data.
Struq
Account and Authentication
Struq requires a Google account to sign in. When you sign in we store your Google account ID, email address, display name, profile image URL, and language preference, so that we can identify your data and show your profile in the app. Your session is held in a secure, HTTP-only cookie that expires after 7 days.
Content You Create
Unlike our iOS and macOS applications, Struq is a web service: the content you create is stored on our server (Cloudflare D1) so that it remains available across your devices. This includes:
- Songs — title, artist, BPM, key, and reference URL
- Sections — type, custom label, bar count (and optional extra beats), chord progression, and memos
- Setlists — title, description, session date, and venue
AI Structure Generation
When you use AI generation, the song title and artist name you entered are sent to Google’s Gemini API to produce a suggested structure. The key is included only if you provide one. No account information is included in that request. Under the Gemini API terms that apply to our use, Google does not use prompts or responses to improve its products; it may still log them for a limited time for abuse prevention and legal requirements. The feature is limited to one request every 10 seconds per account.
Sharing
You can share a song or setlist with another Struq user by entering their email address; sharing is only possible with someone who already has a Struq account. Once shared, that person can view the item and will see your email address as the owner, and likewise their email address appears in your share list. You can revoke access at any time, which removes their ability to view it.
Offline Cache
So that you can read your songs and setlists without a connection, Struq can store a copy in your browser using IndexedDB. That copy stays on your device and is cleared when you sign out.
Data Retention and Deletion
Deleting a song or setlist in the app removes it from your account, but the record is retained in our database in a deleted state. If you would like your account and its associated data removed entirely, contact us and we will delete it.
Third Parties
Struq relies on Google (sign-in and the Gemini API) and Cloudflare (hosting and database). Struq contains no analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell your data.
This Website (focuswave.cc)
Hosting
This website is a static site delivered through Cloudflare. In the course of serving pages to you, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as your IP address, user agent, and the page requested. The website itself has no accounts, no sign-in, and no forms that submit information to us.
Analytics
We use analytics to understand which pages are useful and how well the site performs. Two services run on this website:
- Google Analytics 4 — records the pages you view, the referring site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and device, browser, and language information. It is not loaded at all unless you agree to it first.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics — records page performance measurements. It does not use cookies for this purpose. When the site is served through Cloudflare, measurement may run at Cloudflare’s edge rather than via a script we place in this site’s source.
We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with data from our applications.
Cookies
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets a pair of cookies whose names begin with “_ga” on focuswave.cc, which serve to distinguish one visitor from another. Google’s documented default expiration for these cookies is up to two years, subject to browser limits. Until you agree, no cookies at all are set. We record your choice itself in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, and we use no advertising cookies.
Embedded Fonts
Typefaces are served from focuswave.cc along with the rest of the site. Your browser makes no request to Google Fonts or any other outside font host, and these files set no cookies.
Your Choices
Analytics are off until you allow them, and you can change that decision at any time through the “Cookie Settings” control in the footer of any page. Declining, or later withdrawing, deletes the “_ga” cookies and stops further measurement. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and Google provides a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on all websites. None of this affects your ability to read this website. Cloudflare Web Analytics is not covered by the consent notice: it does not use cookies for this purpose, and when the site is served through Cloudflare it may run at the edge rather than via a script in this site’s source.
General Provisions
Children’s Privacy
We do not use our Applications to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to us, please contact us so that we can take the necessary actions.
Security
We take the confidentiality of your information seriously. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will take additional steps to notify you when required. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use after an update means you have an opportunity to read the new policy; it does not replace any separate consent we may need to obtain for a particular feature or type of processing.
Consent and Other Bases for Processing
This policy explains how we handle information when you use our applications and this website. Depending on the product and the processing involved, we may rely on different grounds allowed by applicable law. Where consent is required — for example analytics cookies on this site, or features that send data to third parties — we will ask for it in the app or on the site, rather than treating mere use of the service as consent to every practice described here.
